Disney World New Years Fireworks?

Oh yes it is VERY busy. I was there this past week, and I went to Magic Kingdom on New Year's Eve. If you want to get on the rides without having to use fastpes, get there at the park opening (7 in the morning.) That's what I did and I was able to go on the most popular rides without waiting. At noon, they stopped letting people in because it reached full capacity (70,000).
