Do you think this is a good idea?

I am too chicken to ask the guy I like if he asks me, so I was wondering would it be a bad idea to go up to him and ask Want a kiss? to see his reaction. if he reacts badly, I open up my hand which will have a Hershey's kiss inside and say you don't like chocolate? I think he likes me he's been sending signals (looking at me and smiling, smiling when talking to me, and when a 3 year old put our hands together and said we should get married he didnt let go)
