What will happen if your harbor a minor/runaway?

First off I want to say thank you for being such a good friend to her I am sure she needs that and appreciates it being in the situation she is in...I am not sure what the law is where you are but in the US adults are held accountable for children in their care and for "harboring a minor". You said she is staying with you but before she was staying with her brother and her mom did nothing...Why can't she go to stay with her dad right now since it "seems" her mom does not care or is abusing her. If her mom is abusing her and her parents are in court why didn't she say anything at that time and if it has started as of late why doesn't she call the caseworker on her case, which it should be one involved since there is a minor in the divorce? Why haven't your parents contacted her dad and said this is the situation...ur daughter is with us? Understand people do all kinds of things to people who try to help...Meaning her mom could turn this around and make it look bad. Point blank reach out to someone so IF ANYTHING happens or comes up you and your family are covered.
