Can I start a hedge fund without a Series 7? If not, let's say I do it anyway? What will be the consequence?

I have several family members that I have been trading for and now even people that I don't know want to join. I would love to take all of the money from these clients and start a fund but I don't have a Series 7. I would love to take the series 7 but I have no affiliation with a company so I can't take it. What should I do?
