Fleece vs. bedding in guinea pig cages?

I used bedding. Cedar chips are also good. I wouldn't use fleece because it will be difficult to clean it. But cedar chips and bedding can be emptied into the trash can when you clean the cage, or you could put it in a compose heap to use as fertilizer for a garden.
